Whilst working as the designer for a garden centre, I was asked by Glastonbury Hospital to create a garden for patients and staff to relax in.
An area in the centre of the hospital had been chosen for the site however all the services ran underneath this area and therefore no digging or excavating could be done.
I decided to create a series of raised timber beds, the timber structures varied and some provided seating whilst others were planted with mixed shrubs and perennials.
I used screening to create an area at the end of the garden for a communal seating area. The garden now provides a peaceful, relaxing space for patients and visitors to enjoy.
